The Shift to Data-Centricity

The Shift to Data-Centricity

· By Mansa Muhammad

Enterprises are hitting a wall with application-centric IT environments. As AI adoption increases, the tendency to isolate critical information within individual applications creates data silos, sprawl, and costly duplication. Everpure is addressing this fragmentation by introducing Everpure Data Intelligence—formerly known as 1touch.io—alongside updates to its Enterprise Data Cloud (EDC) architecture.

The core problem is that traditional architectures treat data as a byproduct of the application. This makes it difficult to establish the trusted data sources required for AI models and agents. Everpure is pushing for a transition to a data-centric strategy where governance, context, and semantic understanding are embedded directly within the data layer.

This move toward a data-primacy model changes the fundamental relationship between information and software. In this framework, data exists independently of the applications that consume it. Information becomes a shared system of record that carries its own context, governance policies, and lifecycle controls. Applications and AI agents can read from and contribute to this environment, but the data platform retains ownership.

Everpure Data Intelligence is designed to discover, classify, and contextualize enterprise data at its source. The platform operates across on-premises infrastructure, public cloud environments, SaaS applications, and third-party storage systems. It provides visibility into both structured and unstructured datasets, including databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

For leaders managing AI initiatives, the significance lies in the reduction of fragmentation. By moving away from application-specific silos, organizations can create real-time intelligence repositories that support both traditional workflows and AI-driven agents. The goal is to transform data from a fragmented asset into a unified, governed foundation.

The question for the enterprise is no longer just how to deploy AI, but how to restructure the underlying data architecture to make that AI trustworthy.
